Arkansas Unemployment Notice

On August 24, 2021, the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services amended Ark. Admin. Code 003.20.2-5 to require Arkansas employers to post, and provide upon separation, a notice on the availability of unemployment benefits. The amended rule provides an updated notice of unemployment insurance eligibility (Appendix A to Rule 5) that employers must send to employees at termination and specifies that the delivery method is at the discretion of the employer.

The amended rule went into effect on September 3, 2021.

Next Steps for Employers

Employers should ensure that they post this notice in a prominent location at the workplace and that they update their termination checklist and/or offboarding procedures to include providing the notice to separating employees.
