California Expands Human Trafficking Notice Posting Requirements

Effective January 1, 2023, California amends its human trafficking notice rules to require that, in addition to other previously listed businesses, barbering and cosmetology businesses post a notice containing information related to slavery and human trafficking.

Next Steps for Employers

Covered employers should visit the California Department of Industrial Relations website to download a copy of the required poster and ensure that it is posted in a prominent location within the workplace that is accessible to all applicants and employees. It is also recommended that covered employers with remote workforces provide the notice electronically.
