EEO-1 filers who have not submitted and certified their 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 Report(s) will have through Tuesday, June 21, 2022, to submit the required data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Previously, the published deadline to submit and certify the 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 Report(s) was Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
Once the June 21 deadline passes, reports will not be accepted after this date and filers will be out of compliance with their mandatory report filing obligation.
EEO-1 Report
The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit demographic workforce data, including data by race/ethnicity, sex and job categories.
Next Steps for Employers
Employers who are required to file and have yet to submit and certify their 2021 data should do so as soon as possible and no later than June 21.
According to the EEOC, employers who have submitted a request to the Filer Support Team and are awaiting a response, should be advised the Filer Support Team is in the process of addressing those requests. The EEOC asks that filers only contact the Filer Support Team once regarding the same issue.
