Form I-9 Expiration Date

As reported in the September HR Focus, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has instructed employers to continue using the current version of the Form I-9 beyond the form’s August 31, 2019, expiration date. The current I-9 employment eligibility verification form has an expiration date of “08/31/2019” in the upper right-hand corner and an edition date of “07/17/17” in the lower left-hand corner.

USCIS will provide details about the new version of the I-9 as soon as they become available. The new version of the form is not expected to contain any substantive changes.

HR Works will be monitoring the release of an updated form and will communicate any updates as needed.
