Massachusetts Revised Its Workers’ Compensation Notice

As of September 16, 2024, Massachusetts employers subject to workers’ compensation laws are required to post a revised workers’ compensation Notice to Employees in a visible location accessible to all employees. If a visible location is not available, employers can distribute the notice by regular mail or electronically.

The revised notice must include:

  • Name and phone number of the employer’s designated workers’ compensation contact.
  • Workers’ compensation insurance carrier’s information (including name, address, and phone number).
  • Employer’s name and address.
  • The preferred medical facility, if applicable.

Employers must ensure this information is updated whenever changes occur and repost or resend the revised notice accordingly.

Next Steps

Employers who have not already downloaded the revised notice should do so immediately from the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents website, and complete the required fields in the notice with the correct information for their organization.

Once the required information has been completed, ensure it is posted in a prominent location or distribute it electronically if no such location exists.

Ensure ongoing compliance by updating and re-posting the notice if any relevant information changes.
