Massachusetts: Veterans Poster Is Now Available

As an update to our previous report, Massachusetts employers with more than 50 full-time employees are now required to display a new Veterans Benefits and Services poster. This notice must be posted in a prominent workplace location and provided to employees at the time of hire and annually thereafter.

Although the requirement took effect on November 6, 2024, the official poster was not immediately available. Employers can now download it from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.

Next Steps for Employers

Employers should download and immediately post the notice in a prominent location at the worksite and update their onboarding process to ensure the notice is provided to all employees at the time of hire and on an ongoing basis. For remote employees, it is recommended that the notice be provided electronically.

Additionally, employers should familiarize themselves with state-provided resources for covered employees and ensure that managers and supervisors are trained to respond appropriately.

Employers seeking additional guidance on whether this posting requirement applies to their organization are encouraged to consult with legal counsel.
