The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a new version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification with an expiration date of 7/31/2026. The new form must be used by all employers in the United States starting on November 1, 2023.
Employers who fail to use the new Form I-9 after this date may be subject to penalties from the USCIS.
Employers who are not already using the new Form I-9 should start using it as soon as possible but by no later than November 1, 2023, for all newly hired individuals.
It is also recommended that you update your hiring process to include the new Form I-9 and ensure that those responsible for completing the Form I-9 on behalf of your organization have been trained in how to complete the new form.
