RI: Minimum Wage to Gradually Increase to $15 Per Hour

On May 20, 2021, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee signed legislation (HB 5130) increasing the state’s minimum wage from its current rate of $11.50 per hour to $15, as follows:

  • On January 1, 2022, the minimum wage will increase to $12.25 per hour;
  • On January 1, 2023, the minimum wage will increase to $13 per hour;
  • On January 1, 2024, the minimum wage will increase to $14 per hour; and
  • On January 1, 2025, the minimum wage will increase to $15 per hour.
