As we previously reported, E-Verify+ was announced in February 2024. As an update, individual employers are now receiving invitations to voluntarily use E-Verify+. Currently, participation is by invitation only, as employers must be invited by USCIS to join the program. USCIS plans to continue the incremental rollout of E-Verify+ throughout 2024. Notably, E-Verify+ is not yet available for E-Verify Employer Agents, Web Services, or federal contractors subject to the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) E-Verify Clause.
E-Verify+ is a service of E-Verify designed to streamline employment eligibility verification by integrating the Form I-9 and E-Verify into a single, seamless digital process.
When an employer opts to use E-Verify+, the system sends a unique link to the employee via email, instructing them to electronically submit their information and documents. Using the submitted information, an E-Verify case is automatically created and instantly submitted. The employer then reviews the employee’s information and documents, signs the Form I-9, and retains it along with the associated E-Verify case information.
HR Works will continue to monitor this topic and share updates as they become available.
