During these uncertain times, HR Works knows that our communities need us now more than ever. Contributions made to United Way’s annual campaign are one way to provide financial support for COVID-19 response. These contributions help support the needs of families year-round, and are especially important during a crisis.
HR Works has participated in United Way of Rochester’s annual fundraising campaign for many years. We are proud to share that this year, HR Works doubled our total donations and number of employees who pledged compared to 2019!
With these funds, United Way of Rochester is supporting our local nonprofits and community members with health related challenges, including:
- Setting up a Community Crisis Fund to collect donations for crisis-specific issues including food and shelter
- Purchasing bulk hand sanitizer from local distiller, Black Button, to distribute at shelters, food pantries, and other essential service locations
- Mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to support Foodlink in packing hundreds of thousands of pounds of food for emergency distribution, and joining in a Mask Maker volunteer effort to supply homemade masks to our local nonprofits and vulnerable populations
Thank you to all who have pledged financial support to the United Way, and for all the other ways you have found to give back to our communities during this time.
