Gerry and his son Jason Pierce acquired HR Works in 2019 and now direct the growth of one of the largest, independently held human resource consulting firms in the United States.

Before taking the reins at HR Works, Gerry was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Wegmans Food Markets, where he oversaw all HR functions and initiatives as a member of the senior leadership team.

Under Gerry’s guidance, Wegmans’ HR department enabled the company and its 45,000 employees to be recognized by Fortune magazine as one of “The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America” from 1997 – 2017.

When he’s not building culture in the workplace, Gerry is building the community. His leadership and mentorship have helped thousands of urban youths graduate high school. Gerry continues to help them identify their educational and professional aspirations. He is inspired by the opportunity he has to lead others in their pursuit of excellence. Gerry also enjoys spending time with his family, and someday would love to master the craft of wine origins and profiles.

He is co-founder and former board chair at the Hillside Work Scholarship Connection and is a trustee at Rochester Institute of Technology.
